Yes, these are all of the items I need to get down to business in the initial part of my designing. A simple sketch pad, my most FAVORITE pencil ever, the PENTEL Graph Gear 1000 mechanical drafting pencil .7mm (the silver and blue one in the picture) . MICRON fine tip artist ink pen, usually an 08 (.5 mm) or 05 (.45 mm). The lines you see within the above flowers are the MICRON 08. For the thicker lines, with the paintbrush type quality I use the PRISMACOLOR brush pen you see above. And lastly, a good FABER-CASTELL eraser. BOOM.
PRISMACOLOR BRUSH PEN
I used the Prismacolor brush pen for the entire design above. I love being able to add the "paintbrush" type look with just a change in pressure between the pen and the paper.
I just did the above deisgn today (notice is now the background design on my website too) and it is what gave me the idea for this blog post! Some days I feel like doing a lot of lline work, and today was one of those days you can see! I used the Micron 08 pen for all of the lines in both the design above and the one below.
MICRON 08/PRISMACOLOR BRUSH PEN
And here is the final design from that original ink drawing in the first picture. I used both the Micron 08 and the Prismacolor brush pen. I do love how the variety of lines can give a certain kind of depth and movement to a design.
Thank you for stopping by and taking a peak into my "office"! I hope you enjoyed it!
