Custom orders always take me places I never would have gone before, and this order did just that! I never would have chosen to draw dandelion fluff if it weren't requested by this client reworking their business logo. The logo reveal will be in a follow-up blog post of course! Anyway, I had the best time playing with dandelions today and wanted to share my designs with you. But again, you will have to wait and see which one she ultimately chose for the new logo!
First.....A DANDELION LESSON
Dandelions are native to Eurasia and North and South America, and are found as weeds worldwide. There are two species of dandelions and both are entirely edible. The name dandelion from French dent-de-lion, means "lion's tooth". They have very small flowers collected together into a composite flower head. Each single flower in a head is called a floret. Ohhhh, that would be a perfect name for a dandelion "collection" of designs now woulnd't it?!
THE DESIGNS FOR THE CLIENT!
From the beginning the client told me she wanted dandelion fluff, and that she was interested in pink, black and gray or combinations of any of those for the color way of the design.
I sent her the three designs above and she said it was a very tough decision, but ultimately she chose......well, you'll have to wait and see until I have the logo completely finished!
Yes, I was momentarily side tracked and felt the need to put the dandelions in repeat form, see below! I had a ball working with a flower I never would have done on my own and I plan on continuing this dandelion journey.
