Slacking on the blog posts, yep that's me. And it has been bothering me for sure. Here is the deal, we live in Northern Virginia and have been getting slammed with winter weather. I am not only a freelance surface designer but a stay at home Mom to three amazing young kids. They just had their TENTH snow day yesterday. We have had ONE full week of school since before Christmas vacation. Needless to say, we have had a very inconsistent schedule and it obviously impacts my time to work so the blog gets put on the back burner. I spoke with a friend of mine recently who has a regular group of blogs she reads and she told me that a couple of them only post a few days a week, but she knows exactly what days they post so she can still keep up with them. At this point in time, I am going to go with that kind of schedule and I will be posting regularly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. So with that, let me show you a few designs that I managed to get done during this crazy weather season. Thank you for following.
I can't get enough of these abstracts! My lastest one above.
Front Row Society offeres monthly scarf design competitions, the design above is my entry for this month's competition that they have entitled "Print Party". You can view the entries HERE - voting is not yet open, but it will be soon!
"Vintage Parisian" was a request I had recently, so here is my take on that! Usually I am all about color, but I sure do like how the black, gray and pink color way looks with the Eiffel Tower.
So you see, I have been busy with my true love of drawing, color and design during these snow days.....and not a lot of extra time to do the blog writing. The weather is finally looking up for this week and I think the kids will be in school for a full week.....they are not going to knwo what hit'em and I am going to get A LOT done :)
