OH MY Monday - SVENKST TENN - So last week you may recall that I posted about designer/architect Josef Frank (1886-1967 an Austrian-born architect, artist, and designer who adopted Swedish citizenship in the latter half of his life). While I was doing my research and pinning his work on Pinterest I kept seeing the words "SVENKST TENN".....curiosity piqued I had to find out more of course. Here is what I found: Svenkst (Swedish) Tenn is an interior design company with the store, Interior Studio and Tea Room on Strandvägen in Stockholm. The company was founded in 1924 by Estrid Ericson . Swedish Tenn originally sold only pewter, but in 1930 the range was expanded to include an interior design department. In 1934 Josef Frank came to the company. He became a Swedish Tenn premier designer. Other designers were Anna Peter , Bjorn Tragardh and Uno Åhrén . After the death of Josef Frank Estrid Ericson continued driving Swedish Pewter until 1975, when she sold the company to Kjell and Märta Beijer Foundation . In 1979 became Ann Wall director of operations and 2001 Yvonne Sörensen took over the lead. I am especially drawn to the lines and shapes of their furniture, vases, candle sticks , etc. in combination with their color palettes.
